Natural Stone

Granite And Marble

Granite is a popular material because due to its durability and unique appearance, while marble has always been associated with luxury and is best suited for all types of home remodel appliances. Even though marble is very popular material to use, we cannot forget it is a porous, high-maintenance material. One good thing about Marble is that it is heat resistant. If you don’t mind the extra work, marble is a beautiful addition to your home.

Quartzite

Quartzite is another beautiful addition to our natural stones list. Most slabs have natural shades like white, gray and beige, with stunning and unique patterns and veining, creating an extraordinary variation of colors. Quartzite has a great physical durability and chemical resistance making it one of the most impressive types of natural stones.

Soapstone

Soapstone

Soapstone adds a rustic and smooth charm to your home and because of its natural density, it is opposed to stains. This natural stone is the result of the heat and pressure during tectonic plate subduction. This material has been used for centuries. It has a dark, elegant look which catches the eyes of many clients. The warm look and cool feel add distinctive characters to any space. Soapstone contains mineral talc - talcum powder - making it relatively soft. Periodic application of mineral oil will help the material develop a dark patina and enhance the natural aging process of your soapstone. The oil also reduces risk of bacterial growth. This material is also heat resistant.

Limestone

Limestone is another beautiful natural stone that not many people know about. Just like soapstone, it is also heat resistant. It comes in various shades, from sandy beige to grayish blue. Although during the production we use penetrating sealer in all stones, Limestone is more porous than other stone options. The sealer will also keep the material color intact - making it stain resistant.

Limestone

Dolomite

One type of stone that is not talked enough about is Dolomite. For the people who want the natural marble look but a material that is more resistant, this is a great option. With a more affordable price, Dolomite offers a look very similar to marble, with more options in grays and whites, but it is not as fragile. You can also find some unique slabs that contains some greens, blues, and darker tones like brown and black. Another characteristic of dolomite is that it is heat resistant. Even though this is a material that is more resistant than marble, you still need to maintain and care for it properly. Remember that no natural stone is scratch proof, some stones are just more prone to it than others.

Onyx

This stunning high-end material together with its unique appearance, brings light to create a new idea and concept. Onyx comes in the most stunning colors, and with some backlighting the beauty and luxury of the stone comes to life. It usually comes in smaller slabs, but it can still be used for countertops just like any other natural stone. Onyx is a form of marble, comprised mostly of calcite, which makes it much softer stone more likely to stain or etch. No two slabs of Onyx will be exactly alike due to its dozens of colors and heavy veining. It usually costs more than granite, however it is a more fragile material. Care and maintenance are key when it comes to this stone. Onyx can be marked easily with the use of cleaning products, acid, pots and knives. Always wipe up any spills on the stone. Onyx is recommended to be used in a low-traffic area. This material should be resealed on a regular basis.

Onyx

When it comes to natural stone, marble is the softest, while quartzite is the hardest. Granite, the most common choice, falls in the middle of the hardness rating of marble and quartzite.

A serpentine category means the stone’s hardness falls directly in between a marble and a granite. The harder the stone, the less likely it is to have chips and scratches in your high traffic kitchen.
